to develop new works of experimental theatre. In Portland, OR.
contact: antero@paratheatrical.com and 503-299-4064

THE IN-PERSON INTERVIEW
An in-person interview is required for anyone new to this work. I'm not interested in academic portfolios or past awards or degrees. I am interested in hearing about whatever engages your commitment to life and art. I'd also like to know about your past and present experience in theatre, dance, ritual, song, and/or martial arts. I view commitment, talent, and skill as equal values. I am not biased either way towards the professional or the amateur. I am biased towards integrity and autonomy. Finally, this interview is not an audition but a meeting to find out what you can expect from this training and, whether or not this is a good time to participate. These interviews run 30 -45 minutes in SW Portland. Contact me at: antero@paratheatrical.com or 503-299-406
(no interviews by phone, e-mail, or Skype).

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS TRAINING
You can expect to work. This training process is physically and emotionally demanding. You can expect to confront your own limitations, movement cliches, internal resistances and rigidities, prejudices, and obsolete behaviors, beliefs, and other habits that drain your power and inhibit your capacity for a more direct experience, autonomy, and spontaneous response. If you commit to the work, you can also expect a rewarding experience. Interaction with others in this training is never forced. The underlying confrontation here is with The Self.

FEES, REFUND POLICY, and ATTENDANCE
Weekend Training Intensives (Sat/Sun; 6 hrs each day): $150.
Paratheatre Labs
(once a week, 2.5 to 3 hours per session for 7 - 10 weeks):
$50 to $150 depending on paratheatre training experience; those with more training, pay less.

In the event of withdrawal from any Training Intensive or Lab no refunds are offered; fees can be applied as credit to future training or ParaTheatrical ReSearch products (please inquire). Training and development in this medium requires a time-intensive process demanding consistent attendance. If you plan to miss more than 1 session in ANY Lab, please do not apply until your schedule allows for more consistent attendance.
